Battery, Charging & Starting System

Masterwerks has the personnel and equipment to fully diagnose and repair all battery, charging and startings system issues. The most common issue with the system as a whole is low battery charge levels due to worn or faulty cells in the battery. A fully charged battery will read 12.6 volts when tested with a voltmeter. A reading of 12.4 volts equals about 75 percent charge as is good enough for further testing. Anything lower and the battery is low and needs to be recharged. A good battery will accept and hold a charge, and deliver the rated number of amps on demand. A bad battery won’t accept a charge and cannot deliver its normal supply of amps because the cells are damaged or worn out.

The charging system should be checked when a battery is replaced or in a low-charge condition to verify it is operating properly. Masterwerks has all the necessary equipment to perform these tests and perform any repairs as needed.
