Maintenance Service Intervals – “Tune up”
When you ask your service advisor for a “Tune-up”, what you are really saying is that you want to maintain your vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer’s suggested service intervals.
After a visual inspection, input from you and a checklist on the items based on your vehicle mileage and driving habits we can easily determine what maintenance should be performed. If your vehicle’s performance is below standard, then you may or may not need a “tune-up”. You may need mechanical repair on one of the many vehicle sub-systems.
Servicing your vehicle’s regular oil changes, fluid inspections and tire pressure monthly will result in a top performing, safer, more reliable vehicle that will provide you years of service. You will gain an overall lower cost of ownership and control over your vehicle expenses. Additionally, we maintain a history of your maintenance records that will increase the value of your vehicle when in comes time to sell or trade it in.

More Details
Modern vehicles are much better designed than their mechanical forefathers resulting in longer intervals between major maintenance/“tune-ups”. The improved design results in high mileage intervals of 60,000 to 105,000 miles before the spark plugs need to be replaced. Due to increased customer awareness, most vehicle owners are familiar with the so-called “major interval” mileage services that manufacturers recommend at 30,000 / 60,000 / 90,000 miles.
These intervals are important benchmarks for required service inspections, maintenance and replacement of wearable items. However, it is crucial to always have the mechanical systems inspected at regular periods in between the “major interval” mileage benchmarks. Doing so will prevent wear items from reaching the breaking point and result in complete failure which will keep the total repair cost lower.
Items that should be periodically inspected: fuel, emissions and ignition systems, as well as the battery, charging and starting system, and the engine mechanical and the powertrain control systems and perform services as needed. Other important items that should not be ignored are fuel filters, fuel injection flush and engine de-carb in order to remove hardened deposits resulting in lost performance from the internal engine parts. Remember to stay on top of your intervals, which will lower your overall cost of ownership.
