Wheel Alignment Diagnosis and Repair
Proper alignment of both the front and rear wheels ensures easy steering, comfortable ride, long tire life, and reduced road vibrations.
How to determine if your vehicle needs an alignment:
- Sensitive steering at high speeds
- Increased effort needed to change directions
- Unusual tire wear
- Steering wheel is off-center
- Vehicle has directional drift
If your vehicle has any of the above symptoms the alignment angles should be checked. If the alignment angles are within specifications, the tires and wheels should be inspected.
Pull during braking may be the fault off either the front suspension or the brakes. The first thing to check when a vehicle wanders or pulls is the tire pressure. The brakes should be inspected after all visual checks of the tires, wheels, and the suspension have been made. If this does not correct the problem, check the wheel alignment angles.
Front wheel shimmy may be caused a faulty tire, loose steering linkage, incorrectly adjusted wheel bearings, weak shock absorbers, and wheel alignment. Most shimmy problems are related to tires and wheels that are either out of balance or out of round.
Masterwerks has the computerized alignment equipment and trained personnel to inspect and correct your vehicle alignment symptoms.
